About Putna-Vrancea Natural Park

The Putna - Vrancea Natural Park (Parcul Natural Putna-Vrancea) is a protected area situated in Romania, in administrative territory of Vrancea district.

The Natural Park is located in Vrancea Mountains (Eastern Carpathians), in the hydrographical basin of the Putna River, in the north-west part of Vrancea district.

The Putna-Vrancea with an area of 26.503 ha, represents a mountainous area (crevasses, mountain peaks, valleys, canyons, waterfalls, forests, pastures), with a large variety of flora and fauna. (source: wikipedia)

Natural Park Putna - Vrancea, houses a rich population of carnivores: brown bear, wolf, fox, otter, lynx, wild cat, martes, badger, but also carpathian deer, rabbit, chamois, deer,  wild pigs, predatory birds: golden eagle, greater spotted eagle, forest eagle, red footed falcon, pigeon hawk, long eared owl, boots buzzard, hornets, tawny owl, large owl, little owl, sparrow hawk, common buzzard, kestrel red, swallows falcon, peregrine falcon.
