Among the most valuable assets of the Modern and Contemporary History collections are over 400 papers presenting various aspects of the work of European Commission of the Danube and Danube Maritime Directorate.

Numismatics and medal collections includes 45.000 pieces of ancient, medieval and modern, the most impressive treasure of the Uzun Baiir with over 21.000 tartars coins, 175 byzantine coins, 75 silver bullion, objects of gold and silver ornament, in fact the largest thesaurus of this kind from Europe.
