About Memorial Museum "Ion Creanga"

Ion Creanga is counted as one of the greatest writers of our people.

Was born in the Humulesti village, Neamt County on 01.03.1837 and died at 31.12.1889 in Iasi.
Memorial Museum "Ion Creanga", operates in the writer’s house in Humulesti , Neamt county. Since the establishment of this institution, its purpose was twofold: to promote the life and work of the author, especially masterpiece "Childhood memories", through photo-documentary exhibition that takes places at the entrance and through guide, that is offered to the tourists; ethnographic value of the house and annexes (sheds, barns), which provides clues about lifestyle, traditional occupations and crafts of Romanian peasants in the nineteenth century.
