About Ceahlau National Park

Ceahlau National Park is a protected area of national interest.

Located in the area of the Eastern Carpathians , the park covers an area of 8.396 hectares - consisting of hard conglomerates - the Massif Ceahlau.

In this area there are protected zones like " Policy Lilies "(scientific botany reserve) and " Waterfall Duruitoarea "(monument).

Ceahlaul was named Olympus of Moldova due to exceptional landscape context, great and looking cliffs, flora and forests full of creatures who have created a remarkable landmark of Ceahlau Massif.

Tourist attractions:

Waterfall Duruitoarea - monument of nature (25 m length) situated at an altitude of 1.250 m.

National Park "Ceahlau" houses a rich population of carnivores: bear, wolf, lynx but also chamois, deer, bats, wild pigs,  predatory birds: Golden eagle, pigeon hawk, sparrow hawk, common buzzard, kestrel red, swallows falcon, peregrine falcon.

The development of agro-tourism hotels and chalets makes the Ceahlaul National Park to be a recreational place, as they say, a "green" tourism.

In the time spent on Ceahlaul National Park can practice horse riding (riding), hiking, cycling, fishing or you can enjoy the nature in its splendor.
