About Memorial House "Ion Creanga"

Ion Creanga is one of the greatest writers of our country.

He was born in the Humulesti village, Neamt County on 01.03.1837 and died at 31.12.1889 in Iasi.

In 1872, Ion Creanga is defrocked and moves in a little house located on street Ticlaul de Sus, Iasi.

The "Little house" named by himself, built before 1850, in the neighborhood Ticau, became a memorial museum (the first literary memorial museum in Romania) on 15 April 1918.

Today is the most visited museum from Iasi. House of Ion Creanga, comes to meet visitors from home and abroad, not as an archive or as a collection of old documents but as a living synthesis, as a modern mirror of life.
