About "Al. I. Cuza" Palace

The palace is built in 1804 by the great treasurer Sandulache Sturdza, in neoclassic style.

In 1847, the palace is inherited by the boyar Costache Sturdza and is restored in Neo-Gothic style.

Governor Alexandru Sturdza (son of Costache Sturdza), made a loan in 1857 to the National Bank of Moldova, mortgaging palace and estate Ruginoasa. National Bank of Moldova organizes an auction for palace and estate,  because Alexander Sturzda has not paid rates.
