About Valley of Fish Lake

Dam "Valley of Fish" (Valea de Pesti) was built on the river Valea de Pesti between 1967 – 1973. It has a 56 meters height, which ranks 35 of the 246 dams in Romania.

Lake "Valley of Fish" is an accumulation lake with a volume of 4.5 million cubic meters of water, an area of 31 ha, maximum depth of 53 m, a length of 2.5 km and lies at an altitude of 830 m.

Dam was built near the locality Campu lui Neag, aims mainly water supply in the Jiu Valley, and during periods of high water has aimed to produce electricity and to mitigate flood waves.

The development of agro-tourism hotels and chalets makes the Valley of Fish Lake to be a recreational place, as they say, a "green" tourism.

In the time spent on Valley of Fish Lake can practice horse riding (riding), hiking, cycling, fishing, or you can enjoy the nature in its splendor.
