About Dacian and Roman Civilization Museum

Dacian and Roman Civilization museum is located in Magna Curia (Latin High Court) or Bethlen Castle built in 1582. It is the oldest historic building from Deva.

The museum holds an important thesaurus:

Gold votive plates from Germisara, dating from the second half of the second century probably during the reign of Emperor Mark Antony or Commodus.

Dacian silver ornaments from Saracsau, contains 4 large brooches, 4 small brooches, a brooch pin, 3 necklaces, 4 bracelets and 6 rings.

Apply from gilded bronze representing the Gorgon Medusa, was discovered during archaeological excavations in 1973 at Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa.

Medieval thesaurus from Nalati Vad, consists of 806 coins and 12 religious and secular objects.

Thesaurus of coin Republican Roman from Piatra Rosie Dacian fortress, 277 coins, dating from the reign of Burebista.

Thesaurus from Salasul de Sus, includes 109 pieces and dates from the years 229-217 BC

Thesaurus of coins Roman Imperial, discovered in the Valley Arsului, 23 coins from the time of Vespasian (69-70).
