About Cobia Monastery

Cobia Monastery is an Orthodox monastery, built between 1571-1572 during the reign of Alexander Voivode.

The church is all that remain of the old monastery Cobia. In 1680, the church was repaired by Parvu Cantacuzino.

Architectural style is similar to the Curtea de Arges monastery, but Cobia monastery possesses a unique decoration in Romanian architecture, the exterior is made only of green and ocher enamelled brick.
