About Bucegi Natural Park

The Bucegi Natural Park is a protected area of national interest, in the territories of the counties Dambovita, Prahova and Brasov.

It has a total area of ​​32.663 ha, of which 16.334 ha are within the county Dambovita, maximum altitude of park is reached in the Omu Peak (2.505 m).

The  park, has a great importance by the beauty of the landscape: canyons, sinkholes, ditches, rocky cliffs, waterfalls, caves and scree.

Bucegi Natural Park houses a rich population of carnivores: bear, wolf, lynx, fox, wild cat but also chamois, carpathian stag, bats, deer, wild pigs, birds of pray: golden eagle, northern goshawk, hawk, common buzzard, kestrel red, saker falcon, peregrine falcon, asio.
