About Varghis Canyon

In Varghis Canyon, 4 km long, have been explored 125 caves, having a total length of 7140 m, containing important fosilifier deposits, archaeological materials and interesting endokarstic shapes.

Flora is rich - typical karst. Plants: bubbly, forest lily, wild garlic, yew. Animals: bear, deer, badger, otter, lynx, golden eagle, salamdra, viper. Caves provide shelter for bat colonies.

On the reserve's territory there are protected geological​​, archaeological and speleological values, respective all the species of animals and plants.

The caves do not have artificial light.
