About Dacian Fortress of Covasna

On the hill "Fairy Castle" (Cetatea Zanelor), in the east of the city, are found the ruins almost entirely uncovered of a large Dacian fortifications, with stone walls arranged in terraces (I century BC - I AD). In the excavations carried out several times in this place, have been discovered pottery objects, tools, weapons and an inhumation grave.

Based on the discovered materials, it was established that the area was inhabited sporadically in the Bronze Age, more pronounced in the first part of the Iron Age and substantial in Dacian period. Here they found a silver ring, a peak of medieval sword from the twelfth century and several coins of the sixteenth century.
