About Turului Canyon

Turului Canyon or Turenilor is a protected zone of national interest (nature reserve, mixed type) with an area of ​​25 hectares, located north of city Turda, Cluj County.

The canyon has a length of 2.000 m and the walls (200 m high) are decorated with various karst forms: steep cliffs and sharp ridges, stone towers, arches, caves.

It was excavated in Jurassic limestones by Racilor Valley and is situated between commune Tureni and Copaceni village, at a short distance from the European road E60, Cluj-Turda.

In the canyon there are 29 caves, including Silex Cave (64 m long), Cave Under Debris (27.5 m) and  Eagles Cave.
