About The Calvin Reformed Church from Turda

The Calvin Reformed Church is the oldest historical and architectural monument preserved in Turda. The building was built in the early fifteenth century, during the Emperor Sigismund of Luxembourg (1387-1437).

The church was designed in the Gothic style, with one ship, with a length of 26 m, width of 8.5 m and a height of 16 meters. Clock tower with a height of 60 meters, was built between 1604 - 1606.

The 4 towers located on the roof of the clock tower, signify that the city had the right for sentence to death.

The church was a Roman-Catholic one, but in 1564 passed to the Reformed-Calvinist confession.
