About St. Michael's Church

The Church of Saint Michael is located in the city of Cluj-Napoca. It is a Gothic edifice, built on the old chapel Sf.Iacob site during 1350-1437. The shrine was built around the year 1390, the tower was built in 1860.

Murals were executed in the fifteenth century. The stained glass and sculptures are well preserved.

Over the years, the church has been Catholic, Lutheran, Reformed, Unitarian, and in 1716 became a Catholic Church.

St. Michael's Church in Cluj is considered to be one of the most imposing Gothic buildings in Romania, with 70 meters length and a height of 80 meters.
