About Apuseni Natural Park

The Apuseni Natural Park (Parcul Natural Apuseni) is a protected area situated in Romania, in the administrative territory of counties Bihor, Alba and Cluj.

The Apuseni Natural Park, with an area of 75.784 ha represents a mountainous area (mountain peaks, cirques, caves, valleys, karst areas, forests and pastures), with flora and fauna specific to Western Carpathians.

Apuseni Natural Park, houses a rich population of carnivores: bear, wolf, lynx but, otter, marten also chamois, deer, bats, wild pigs, predatory birds: golden eagle, pigeon hawk, sparrow hawk, common buzzard, kestrel red, swallows falcon, peregrine falcon.
