About The National Museum of Art

The National Museum of Art (Romanian: Muzeul National de Arta al Romaniei) is located in the former royal palace in Revolution Square, central Bucharest, Romania, completed in 1937. It features notable collections of medieval and modern Romanian art, as well as the international collection assembled by the Romanian royal family.

National Art Museum is composed of three art galleries:

European Art Gallery

Old Romanian Art Gallery

Romanian Modern Art Gallery

Wednesday to Sunday
11.00 - 19.00  (May - September)
10.00 - 18.00  (October - April)
Closed: Monday, Tuesday, 1st and 2nd of January, the first and the second day of Easter, the first and the second day of Pentecost, 1 May, the 15th of August, 30 November, 1, 25 and 26 December

The museum will start to close 30 minutes before the official closing time.

Entrance fees:

The Gallery of European Art: 8 lei
The National Gallery (the Gallery of Romanian Medieval Art, the Gallery of Romanian Modern Art and the Treasure): 10 lei
Combined tickets - The Gallery of European Art + the National Gallery (Treasure included): 15 lei
First Wednesday of the month: free
Students and retired citizens: 50% discount (with valid ID)
Holders of Euro 26 cards, aged up to 26 years: 50% discount (with valid ID)
Groups of over 20 people, requesting guided tours: 50% discount off the ticket price

The ticket is valid throughout the day. Visitors are kindly requested to keep the ticket for verification.

Access with food and drinks in the exhibition areas is strictly forbidden.

Visitors with disabilities: the exhibition areas are accessible for accompanied people in wheelchairs.

Guided Tours:
The museum offers guided tours in Romanian, English and French for groups of up to 25 persons. Advance booking (3 days) is required.
