About Meziad Cave

Impressive dimensions of Portal (16 m high and 10 m wide) and the interior, with large colonies of bats and speleothems captures the attention of visitors during visiting of cave.

The cave is situated at an altitude of 397 m and has two levels of karstification:

Lower level, totaling 1542 m, is characterized by unusually large spaces, often measuring between 20-30 m wide and 15-20 m high.
Higher level, total length of 3208 m.

At the Natural Bridge region, where the two layers overlap, the total height reaches 35 m.

In the cave, they found traces of Paleolithic and Neolithic, the cave was inhabited by Homo sapiens and animals as spelaeus Ursus (bear cave).

Provides favorable conditions for hibernation of bats, especially those of the species Miniopterus schreibersii, which form a large colony in bats Hall.

Guided tour of the cave takes about 45 minutes
