About Bear's Cave

Bear's Cave was discovered in 1975 , at a marble quarry when was performed a dynamited in the area. It is one of the main sights of the Apuseni Mountains. It is located in Bihor County, near the Chiscau village at an altitude of 482 m.

The interior is distinguished by the diversity of formations of stalactites and stalagmites existing,  as the impressive amount of tracks and fossils bear cave - Ursus spelaeus - which disappeared 15.000 years ago. In addition, it has been discovered fossil by chamois , ibex , lion and hyena of cave.

With a length of 1.500 m, the cave contains galleries located on two levels: first gallery, the upper, with a length of 488 meters can be visited by tourists, and the second is 521 m long is reserved for research science.

Upper gallery , available for visit,  is composed of 3 different galleries and halls:
