About Precista Church

Precista church is one of the most famous churches of Bacau. Having patron Assumption, the church is part of the architectural complex of the Princely Court of Bacau.

Precista church was built in the time of Stephen the Great, by his son, Alexander and consecrated on January 1, 1491. Built of stone and brick, in the style of Stephen the Great, the church is very shapely, svelte, with a tower, with a length of 25.68 meters, width of 8.12 meters and width of narthex of 11.24 meters.

Residence of Alexander, son of Stephen the Great, during 1481-1496, the princely court of Bacau was during this period the administrative, organizational and control center of Moldova.
