About Moldoveanu Peak

Moldoveanu Peak, at 2.544 metres, is the highest mountain in Romania located in the Fagaras Mountains of the Southern Carpathians.

From Lake Balea (Balea Lac) follow  mark blue triangular  up in Saddle Goat, Capra Lake (Saua Caprei, Lacul Capra) then follow mark red strip (vertical red line) to Moldoveanu Peak.

Warning: The route is only by step is difficult and tiring (2 nights and 3 days with camping), go properly equipped and with a map of the mountain. In the first day is preferably to camping at the chalet Podragu that is 3-4 hours away from  Moldoveanu Peak.

The route includes Vistea Mare Peak (2.527m) which is the 3 rd the height from Romania.
