About Misici Castle

The Misici Castle  was built in baroque style in the eighteenth century. Each historical period has brought other architectural styles, in present having a mix of styles: Baroque, Corinthian, Renaissance and Neoclassical.

Since 1953, the castle houses the City Museum Lipova. History of  battles led by Mihai Viteazul, history of the citadel, history of the Ottoman occupation are presented in this museum.

 Museum Lipova includes collections of history, Romanian art , European art, Oriental art and ethnography.

Misici Castle is divided into 8 rooms of which is distinguished "Salon Red" and "Yellow Salon", so named because of the tapestry that exists in the two halls.
