About Valisoara Canyon

Valisoara Canyon is a natural complex reserve (geomorphic and botanical), of the national interest. The reserve is located in the village V─âlisoara, commune Livezile, Alba County.

Valisoara Canyon is crossed by creek Aiudului, the right tributary of the river Mures.

Carved into the limestone, the canyon has a width of 25-150 m and a height of 100-150 m. It’s dominated, on the right, by Bogza Peak (814m) and on the left, by Pleasa Cornilor (860 m) and  Rachis Peak (775 m). In the walls of the canyon, on both sides there are caves and other karst formations: ditches, vaults, arches.

Within the reserve, access is made only on the tourist trail, marked with red dot.
